EGR delete?

EGR delete?
I live in Colorado. So emissions is a big deal here. I've never been tested, but know they do it to a lot and they do roadside tests all the time. The EGR delete is illegal in most states, does it really have any benefits? Didn't have one on my last truck so I want to know what I'll gain if I take that chance and do a delete. Thanks.

If you clean the valve to keep it functional and don't let your oil cooler nuke the EGR cooler (or install a BPD EGR cooler), there's not a ton of benefit. It's not a magic MPG enhancer, it doesn't do a ton to keep the intake cleaner anywhere other than directly under the valve.
It's popular because way-back-when EGR coolers were rupturing and deleting them obviously stopped that, even though it was removing the accomplice, not the culprit.
