arent all shocks considered double action?
I can open my truck door step on the theshhold and grab the drip rail on the roof line with three fingers and rock this truck like a baby cradle. I have new heavy duty monroes on the front and air shocks on the rear. The front coils seem to be sprung high and squishy and they havent sagged yet. The rear air shocks have more resistance on the upward stroke or rebound (slower recovery) . The front HD Monroes have the same dampening in both directions of travel but seem not resistant enough on the recovery stroke.
I have heard that there is such thing as a double action shock that might offer more resistance in the recovery stroke after the shock is compressed.
Too much headlight dazzle and body roll.
Do any shock maufacturers offer more resistance in the recovery stroke? I guess they would produce a rougher ride.
thanks

I did some research and yes, the Ranchos are adjustable and those sound like what Im looking for. BUT since this thread I have increased the air pressure in my rear shocks to 100 lbs and that helped the body roll problen quite a bit. So now Im intrested in the after market product called ACTIVE SUSPENSION to enhance the rear leaf spring performance as far as controlling headlight dazzel (front to rear bounce) which still a problem.
thanks for the input

Your right Im pushing my luck on that air pressure. You know how much money is thrown at vehicles when it comes to shocks. Thats why Im leary of the shock manufacurers that claim to reduce body roll without offering a banging ride. MY experience tells me that a vehicles personality comes from the springs first and the shocks secondly. So now Im intrested in the performance of the compressed air bag type lift system for my front coil springs.
Maybe they they would tweak the front springs enough to reduce vertical bounce and help out on body roll without a rough ride situation.
