low tire warning not working
The regular tire is not anywhere near the vehicle and the spare is on the rear. Why is my tpms not going crazy?
When I bought it I was missing one tpms wheel sensor and it would flash for about 10 sec, then work normally. That is to say if one of the three was low it would warn me. I've sense got 4 new sensors and all was fine, or so I thought.
I did get a low pressure warning a few times this winter when the temps got really cold so I figured it was working right. Now this has me wondering ...
The light works and turns on at start up.
Any ideas?
So when I bought it, the tpms light must have been flashing for some other reason?
Wish I would have known that one sensor would be fine. I would haven gotten one sensor and had it mounted on the spare tire. The other 4 are easy enough to monitor, the spare is the one that really needs the monitor.
Good to know
They must have changed this in later years, though. I had a similar issue with my 2010 f150 at work. I had the spare on the rear and the sensor tire fully inflated in the bed. At first the tpms was happy, but after a few miles it figured out that things weren't right and it gave me the "service tpms system" message.
Interesting
