Not bad if you're a tire dealer like Discount Tire, Goodyear Les Schwab etc............

Most tire pressure monitor sensor/transmitters (TPMS) are on the inside of a tire. to replace, you must unmount the tire to get to it.

If I was going to replace 1, I would consider replacing all 5

(I would probably also have one on the spare........don't want to find out it's flat when one of the running tires goes flat!!!)

Cheers,

Rick

Ohh boy...

The TPMS sensors occasionally fail on their own but most of the one's I have to service have been damaged by tire stores during the installation of new tires. Since the likelihood of this occurring is high I would strongly recommend that you leave the functional sensors alone to avoid creating additional problems and simply address the faulty sensor. "If it aint broke, don't fix it!"

As for adding a sensor in the spare tire assembly, the practice is pointless as the sensor in the spare tire cannot be programmed into the system and be monitored.

Yeah, for an OE system it might not be possible to add additional sensors. I am going to put an after market system in mine that will have additional "slots" for additional sensors so I can also monitor my trailer tire pressures............
