Easier to tune engine, sequential fire injectors instead of batch fire. Computer is more forgiving for different cams or modifications. My 97 F350 is a California emissions truck. It has OBD2 diagnostics and came from the factory with MAF. I could flash anything I want to the PCM
That does seem pretty legit. So, when you say you could flash anything to the PCM, might that include something to the effect of a Bullydog or an Edge programmer? Or is the comp still too old for that?

That's for a diesel. On obd1, you need to know a tuner. On my obd2, you have to be abke to flash PCM mods.
