Check engine light on??????
Error code 0409 ? Does anyone out there have a suggestion or clues as to what this could be? I know it is not the EGR valve I just replaced that. Any help or ideas would be great.

I don't think that 0409 is a correct code. You can google "OBD II codes" to get a listing of all the codes and their meanings. You stated in an earlier post that the guy at autozone said insufficient EGR flow. This would relate to code 0401. First you will need to get the right code and then it will be easier to help you. Since I don't know the Sports Trac that well, can you tell me if the EGR has an EGR postion sensor on top of the EGR (it will have wires going to the top of the EGR vavle)? If so there will be another sensor controlling the vacuum (EVR). If it is a code of 0401, then the EVR is usually bad since it controls vacuum to flow to the EGR at the right time. You should also try pulling vacuum on the EGR (with a Vacuum pump) while the vehicle is at idle. If the vehicle almost dies then the EGR valve is working properly.
