It is at the mark above the HIGH mark.
Did a transmission plug addition, first filter change and refilled 10 months, 5k miles ago.
Doesn't exhibit any issues at all. But appears to be high, correct?
Do I bother draining some?
Any idea how much will bring it down to the appropriate level?
Can't imagine it's a full quart over, especially without blowing some off/out or having issues.
Yes Sir. Came back from a long drive. Let her idle for about one minute. Then even worked it through the gears which was probably unnecessary. Same reading when cold also.
Can't win. Nothing major but.....
Drained 4 qts. Added 4. Drove.
Was at bottom of dipstick. Probably due to the four oz left in pan and then drip drip drip and what was in the filter I needed slightly more than 4.
Added half quart drove about 40 miles.
Checked while hot.
Was at "add" just below cold mark.
Added the remainder of the quart.
Now it's well above HOT and probably need to drain some. Almost exact spot on the dipstick as last time I had to drain some. And it ended up being more like 8-10 oz instead of draining half a quart.
How much is it from add line to full?!!!!!!!

Drained 6-8 oz out. Now dead smack middle of HOT and should be good.
I might be nuts but I swear she shifted smoother between gears when it was "overfilled."
