Video of my Problem

I read the GP and GPR sticky thread and I think that is my problem.

It was about mid 20s to 30*F last night.

sorry for the poor video quality at first but I change some settings.

You can actually hear it skipping a little before the idle up.

I think its just running rich because of the cold fuel and not all the cylinders are fireing til it gets warm enough towards the end of the video.

YouTube - White Smoke GP or GPR related

That's about what mine looks like when it's real cold out of course that's only in the 30's and low 40's. I like vids they always seem to be beneficial.

Did your truck idle up that high on it's own or did you have it on a high idle setting?

it does it on its own, parking break has to be set with manual trans. takes like 3 or so mins for it to start idling up though.

What DP tune are you starting your truck in? That does sound rough, even for those temps.

Mine wasn't smoking quite that bad and I had 4 dead GP's. By dead I mean not working at all. You look like you got some dark smoke in there as well. Also, I always start in stock on cold days. Need to ohm out your GP's and see what's up. Might be a simple as a bad GPR. I've seen your truck around and I see you are in NC. I have an AE we can hook it up and have a look. Messege me and we will see if we can get together.

Great offer Barry. I'd agree with the guys, the smoke should thin out. Vids are great troubleshooting tools. A side note, Love the sound of your truck Rich, makes me want to get those Swamps stage ones quick, or any stage for that matter.

Are you running stock sticks? if not that may be part of your problem too with your tuner not in.

I do, the video doesnt show it that well but its rather dark. I was thinking that that was the cylinder starting up kind of like a train when it starts a few cylinders at a time.... What does the dark smoke mean?

Also I am going to take you up on your offer, Im in the Raleigh area right now but my truck is in Thomasville for insurance reasons (i was rear ended).

Thanks
