Maybe a 302 would get you past 10 MPG and still be in the 300HP range.

What about a Cummins? Anyone know the tq and mileage on those?

Cummins will get you the TQ for sure but I'm not sure how fuel friendly they are. I just don't know much about those setups.

There are a couple other threads related to dropping a Cummins in.

Sounds to me like your goal is more like a dream and not based on any sort of reality in terms of time, basic know-how, tools, facilities, and potentially required fabrication. Now the question is about a Cummins swap and that endeavor is not for the faint of heart...

Would you be farming this out? I ask this question because of your question earlier about how long it would take to build an engine which I found to be kind of odd ..... it takes however long it takes given disassembly, machine work, parts shipments/deliveries, assembly, installation, and testing.

I feel as if I could take up the task, given time.

I was simply asking how long it generally takes to complete the project, not for me specifically.
