Need help no cranking
If by "touch" you mean you're connecting some sort of jumper conductor between a positive power source and the given terminal, then you've demonstrated that both the starter and the relay are good. Jumping a positive to the small terminal on the relay basically bypasses the ignition switch, neutral switch and associated wiring, but still uses the relay to energize the starter.
This indicates a problem "upstream" of the relay - ignition switch, neutral switch, associated wiring. That's where the wire on the small terminal comes from. That connection right at that terminal looks iffy at best; I'd put either a push-on terminal or a ring terminal with a nut on that wire, for starters (sorry, bad pun...). If no change, try starting in neutral. Also try moving the shifter from neutral toward Drive and toward Reverse while holding the key in the START position (slighty tricky two-hand operation). If you get it to start cranking with any of that, the NSS is the prime suspect; either out of adjustment or needs replacement.
When you turn the key from RUN to START, does the key movement feel "normal", like it's moving the full amount you expect it to?
Yes it feels no different Than normal thank you for explaining all this stuff it's my first truck and I know more about it than anyone else in our school but I'm still pretty green
Starts at relay
Goes threw the dash to here by the fuse box does this weird loop
Comes out of the hole by the fuse box
Goes into this harness by the firewall then I can't seem to find it .
So does anyone know where its final destination is?
with wheels chocked, have someone turn the key to start and check for power on the red/blue wires while in park. you should have power to both sides. if you only get power to one side, then the nss is the problem.
if no power to either wire, than the problem is farther up in the ignition system.
remove the lower dash panels, and loosen the steering column bolts on the dash. this will allow the column to drop an inch or so. look in along the top of the column and you will see the ignition switch down in the area of the brake pedal.
remove the two 7/16 head bolts, and lower the switch. using a screwdriver, try pushing the switch where the rod goes into and start. if it does not start, i would try replacing the switch. if it does start, than the problem is in the ignition actuator in the top of the column
