I purchased them from Stan's headers in Auburn, WA in the chrome finish. After a year, they did not look that great, particularly with the bluing that occurred, so I had them ceramic coated by a local shop in Marshall, TX
I've heard of that before but I've always wondered if it's a direct bolt-on or if they have to be modified any... drilling steam holes, etc.
I just found out that is a false rumor. While the 351C 2V heads will make a factory 351c 4V motor except our current gas better, they are the Same Thing as 351M/400 heads! I looked in my Ford Performance book by Pat Ganahl to read up and see if there would be any piston, etc. issues with putting the 2V heads on a 351M. In there he said the 351M/400 used the 351C 2V heads. So I looked them up. Sure enough, they are. In my 65/72 Car slide, 73/79 Car slide, and 73/79 Truck slide all show 351C/M/400 taking bare head part number D5AZ6049B. (Replaced D3AZ6049H). So the lower compression in a 351M/400 must be in the pistons.

That's good info, and very interesting. Thank you.
So, if I ever wanted to rebuild that 351M and wake it up some I could put some aftermarket aluminum 351C heads on it...correct?
I hope to restore my grandfather's 1980 F150 with 351M/4-speed one day and I may just do this.

Looking to send block out to machine shop for a clean up and possible .020-.030 bore. I mistakenly threw one of the main cap bolts away. Wondering if this bolt kit work?
They used to put Cleveland heads on Windsors for a performance mod. Called them Clevor engines. Ford did it on 69-70 Boss 302's.
The Street Boss and the Track Boss intakes were originally designed and cast by Gary Roughly through B&A Ford Performance in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The intake was designed to put (U.S.) cast iron Cleveland 2-bbl heads or, the much better Australian Cleveland cast iron 2-bbl heads on 289/302/351W blocks.
