2006 V10 P0715 code nightmare

Hello guys I hope your Ford genius might be able to shed some light on my problem. I recently bought a 2006 E350 SD V-10 Class C Winnebago with 33,000 miles. I believe it Torqshift Transmission I was aware of a check engine light and Tow/Mode flashing so I found that it was a P0715 code, Turbine Input shaft speed sensor circuit. After doing a little research it sounded like an easy fix so I bought it. Drove it about 4 hours home and it drove and shifted fine. I found that the sleeping area had alot of hidden damage and after fixing all of it didnt have the energy or time to change the trany sensor so I brought it to a local trans shop. They called me and said it was fixed but they found that it had a aftermarket sensor in there, so it had been changed before. I drove it about 2 miles and i got the check engine and flashing tow mode again. Brought it back and they did a few hours of "looking" without finding a problem. I picked it up and lost $400 for nothing. I checked around and was referred to a supposed top notch Trans shop that charged me $100 to trouble shoot and change the fitting at the transmission. sounds like they bypassed the wiring harness to read the sensor before it gets to the computer and they saw no problems with the sensor or wiring and told me I need a new computer, $1,400. Im broke and so I picked it back up. I found a company in Florida, Autocomputer specialist, and sent to them to see if the computer can be repaired. They called and said the computer checked out fine. Im at a loss and am throwing away money left and right. The damn thing drives fine but Im nervous to take it on a long trip and cant get an inspection sticker with the check engine. I was hoping someone my have some words of wisdom, but Im assuming it will be a wiring issue. thanks, chris

It's the wiring. It's always the wiring. At least 99.999% of the time it's the wiring. Have I mentioned I think it's the wiring?

A long, hard, diagnostic would prove it. There is either a bit of corrosion, or a partially broken wire, or a bad crimp, etc. With a lot of time and money it can be found and fixed.

Or, quite easily and for not much money at all someone could run two new wires from the sensor to the computer. That almost always fixes the problem.

Mark i really appreciate the info. I mentioned putting new wiring, which i thought they said was 4 of them, and bypassing the old but they said their tester, which is installed at the computer in the wiring never saw any faults so they say the wiring is fine. But i have to agree with you, i dont see what else it could be. I guess i will try that and hope for the best.

Mark, I was told by the computer specialist people to NOT use dielectric grease on the connectors. The tranny shop told me that they always use it. What is your opinion?
