Wiring to trailer batteries, what gauge would you use?

Thought I'd quote myself here, and say that while I haven't measured it, I'm estimating that the distance from the batteries to the axles is around sixteen feet, let's say twenty some slack and routing. Based on chucks chart, a distance of 20' with 12 amps would be fine with 16 Ga wire. So 14 is good, and past the point where the current splits to the four brakes, it's far overkill.
Since that 14ga is readily available and affordable, that's what I'm going to use.
