7.3 Sending Units
So got around to dropping the tanks on my 1995 F350 CCLB 7.3 this weekend. I'm doing a restoration on the thing and upon initial inspection the sending units in the tanks looked not too bad and figured I could reuse them....well after dropping the tanks out they don't look as good as I first thought. When I take the sending units out I'll make the final call whether they're reuseable or not. In preparation for the worst I started looking online tonight for the sending units and can't find diesel ones anywhere online except ford? I know from previous parts and such that certain parts (ie. The rear door crew cab weather strips) can only be bought by ford...is this another for only part? I'd hate to completely redo the whole fuel system with new parts and then put old sending units in the tanks but over $1000 for sending units for both tanks is outrageous!! Any information on finding cheaper sending units or a mod people do to avoid having to pay the stealership you're weeks paycheck would be greatly appreciated!
