Sd rear spring swap

I have a 96 f250 powerstroke and I'm wanting to build it into a hauling truck. I am going to be doing a sd axle swap on it got everything I need but the shocks so any info would be greatly appreciated and also was wandering what I will need to do to put sd springs in the rear

What year superduty axle do you have? Did your 96 leave the factory with a pickup bed? If the superduty axle is from a pre 99, and your 96 left the factory with the pickup bed/box the superduty axle will be to narrow for the 96, as the pre99 superduty were cab and chassis trucks that have the frame rails closer together. If you are trying to put a dually rear axle under a single wheeled truck, get an axle from a dual rear truck that left the factory with a pickup bed/box, as those trucks had the wider axle to fit the wider spaced frames.
