i have a chance to buy a late 99 superduty with a 6spd that has passenger side damage and a burn wire harness for $800 i have a 96 F-250 7.3 5spd that i bought recently that has the solid axle under it, but i would like to have disk brakes in the rear, but the axle is a d50 from the 99 correct? What is involved, cutting the leaf platforms off and moving them? And what is the difference between a d50 and d60?

Are you wanting to put the rear axle from the '99 in the '96?
You said the '96 has a solid axle under it. Has the front been swapped to a solid axle or are you talking about the rear?
The front has been switched to a solid axle with tapered roller wheel bearings and the track bar bracket on the passenger rear side of the axle I would like to have disk brakes but I also would want my bolt pattern to match on all 4 rims. Its probably not worth the hassle is it since its already done.
If u already have a straight front, sounds like a lot of work for nada.but for 800 there are a lot of parts to use or sell.i would buy it for other reasons and sell others.
