Interchangeable parts?

Is the water inlet elbow (LMC calls it elbow to manifold, PN 43-0668) interchangeable with engines? The part on LMC and DC says its for a 302 but nowhere has the part for a 360???

The 90-degree fitting for an SBF requires a threaded adapter fitting.

Been there, done that..........Go to this post for the correctly sized fitting: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post13559606

It isn't ... if ya know where to look.

Notice the new fitting only has one port.. it deletes the de-icing plate on a 2V system.

Lol well yeah that's half the battle
Yeah my 360 only has a single port too so that's exactly what I need

Alright HIOsilver and mike0o0o0 one last time (idk how you guys do it but it's greatly appreciated) but is there a part or part number for the spacer for the alternator? Or some pics of how it's attached? On my 74 the PO put the alternator on top (against the engine block so much so it's scratching the block) and used a piece of rubber, 3 washers, a nut and lock washer as a spacer. Figured that's not right lol. Anyway I put it back so it hangs down but was looking for the correct spacer. Also need the adjustment bracket, mines straight but needs the offset bracket. All the brackets I've seen at LMC/DC are the straight brackets, and no catalog has the spacer listed

I knew there was another member who was a part number guru sorry I forgot, but thanks! I'll have to give them a call and see what their prices are

Do you have a parts number or know any places that have the alternator adjustment bracket with the offset? 74 F250 360

Broncograveyard has everything but the 360/390 bracket and after speaking with them, they didn't have a number or know who would have one. I didn't see the part listed in LMC or my Haynes manual either. Thanks in advance!

Most just sell the straight arm but I need the offset to avoid parts hitting

Not surprising since they have no Ford parts catalogs and even if they did, I doubt anyone there would know how to use them.
But this wasn't always the case. Bronco Graveyard (under another name) was founded in Sequim WA by James Duffy, the former parts manager of Beverly Hills Ford.

I didn't see the part listed in LMC or my Haynes manual either. Thanks in advance!

The problem is, there are two types of alternator adjustment arms for your application, but there's no specific picture of either. So I can only go by the parts catalog applications.

C8AZ-10145-A .. Alternator Adjustment Arm-Use without T/E (Thermactor Emission-smog pump) / Obsolete

1968 Galaxie/LTD/Fairlane/Torino/Montego/Mustang/Cougar 390/428.

1968/76 F100/350 360/390 / 1969/71 Galaxie/LTD 390.

NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has 1 = 913-220-5746.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
D4TZ-10145-A .. Alternator Adjustment Arm-Use with T/E / Obsolete

1974/76 F100/350 360/390.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Hmm well I called NOS parts source and he was able to send me a pic of the first bracket, I don't have TEC so I went with that one. It looks to be different than my hanes manual so I guess I need to do sole research on this. It's $50 + shipping so I don't want to gamble lol. Now I just need to find someone with a Highboy 360 and have them take a picture of their bracket

The High Boys use the same alternator adjustment brackets (arms) as other the 360/390 trucks.

The two brackets I listed are the only ones the 1964/72 & 1973/79 Ford Truck Parts Catalogs list for 1968/76 F100/350 360/390.

There's another bracket that I didn't list, as it was only used in 1968/71 FE cars with T/E:

C8AZ-10145-B .. Alternator Adjustment Arm / Obsolete

1968 Mustang/Cougar/Fairlane/Torino/Montego/Comet/Galaxie/LTD 390/428 / 1969/71 Galaxie/LTD 390.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any (with one exception). I did find one, but...

It's listed as C8AZ-10145 (no suffix), but the description is the same as the 1968 cars that I listed.

MUSTANG SERVICE CENTER in North Hollywood CA has 1 = 818-765-9266.

I've known Bo, the owner...since he first "got off the boat from Thailand." He mangles the English language despite being in the US since 1973.

Bo is a former Ford parts guy, we used to work together at Walker-Buerge Ford in West LA.

If you call, tell him "Packard Bill" sent you. Ask him to look at the puppy and describe it.

Yeah by Highboy I mainly meant a 74-77.5 360 cause I didn't know if they made any changes. Thanks for the knowledge! You guys have been a huge help while learning about this engine. I feel like the only parts I ever need to replace are the obscure ones haha

Oh and you'd think the spacer was made of gold, NOS parts source and GREEN Sales CO want $45-50 for that part! Maybe I'll just buy some pipe and cut to fit

Thanks again for the help with the parts!

77.5 is an enthusiasts term. It's actually February 1977 which was the middle of the model year before serial number Y20,001: Last High Boy.

1977 from serial number Y40,001, Ford began making the new F250 4WD.

But, 1977's have 351M or 400. 360/390 cancelled after 1976.

* D1AZ-8A652-A .. Spacer / Obsolete

Last MSRP: $33.09 / Dealer net cost: $22.06.

But not everyone that has it will want 45-50 bucks. I only listed the two obsolete parts vendors, because they had the largest quantity. Here's some Ford dealer sources:

WOLFE FORD in Lidgerwood ND has 1 = 701-538-7337.

FREESE MOTORS in Monticello IA has 1 = 319-465-3541. Ask for Kirk Freese.

B. F. WHITE MOTOR CO. in Stanton TX has 1 = 432-756-3321.

MORROW BROTHERS FORD in Greenfield IL has 1 = 217-368-3037.

COLE MOTOR SALES in Ada OH has 2 = 419-634-3831.

PARK FORD in Tallmadge OH has 7 = 330-633-6222.

There's more, but I'm not gonna type them (I'm the world's worst typist!). If you want the rest (about 15 dealers), we'll have to do it via "Ameche."
