Thanks for the info, that makes sense, I was pulling it home with tow/haul on and it seemed like it didn't want to shift, but that was on a flat highway and when I turned it off it seemed to pull fine. I figured it was too light to even matter but I will try it next time up coming up to/leaving a light and pulling a hill.

I think that is an earlier trans that had either a T/H or Overdrive button that did the TC unlock. On the Torqshift It changes shift points up and down, but everything is still there, not sure if it actually affects VGT action on decel or not, since to me it feels the same if I manually downshift or use the T/H button and tap the brake for a down shift on a down grade.

There were a number of other rumors like T/H increasing line pressure for crisper clutch engagement and the like, but Mark Kovalsky (former Ford engineer that was on design team for Torqshift) has pretty much debunked those, and said it is more of a personal preference thing, the transmission is smart enough to adapt to the load you have...

I'm thinking I'd like to install an EGT gauge as well (Probably an Auber), as my ScanGauge doesn't have that. While I have a decent grasp of the engine/coolant temps to avoid...I have no clue about exhaust. Can anyone enlighten me on that? I presume at the other end of the scale, this gauge would also be useful for turbo cool-down timing?

Thanks for any info,
Bob (driving an E-450, 27' RV).

The chart is in the tech folder https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...-pressure.html

It is a required gauge IMHO if towing in steep grade country and anytime towing heavy. It may have saved my motor. You get a good understanding on how to drive . after watching the egt gauge when climbing a hill it is better to kick down a gear get RPM's up vs lugging the motor as you can see what is happening

Huh?
So what's the difference in feel when you have 1 puller vs 2? Still confused.
Sounds like you double your engine torque.
Neat idea.

I think they are pushing, cause your drive wheels are in the rear.
