65mm BBK 6.8 TB - Anyone have one dialed in?

Still trying to get this TB dialed in, I have the idle screw to a point that truck idles at 830 which is ok. The thing I need help with is sticking gas pedal at a full stop, I guess vacuum causes the issue and the idle screw is supposed to adjust to where it stops? Only problem it won't stop no matter where I put the idle screw. Any help from guys that have it running perfect I'd love to hear it.

One other thing when I'm going at a decent speed and let off the gas the truck pretty much stays at the same speed instead of slowing down, I bent the throttle return spring and the spring tension is not closing it all the way over 35mph Need to find a spring if anyone has one, Ford sells it as a complete unit only.

Have a great Memorial day guys

The IAC should take care of the idle, no matter where the throttle stop is (within reason, anyway). It wasn't already preset to keep the plates open?

I think you have something else going on, both sticking at idle, and sticking open when driving? Something is hanging up.

The idle is actually fine, the sticking gas pedal is my biggest problem. The Part bbk 7110 is made for a couple engines 5.4 and 6.8 and says on bbks tech service board that this is a known issue:

BBK : Installation Instructions

It addresses the problem 3 paragraphs down, pretty much says to turn the idle screw towards the linkage a couple turns in which the plates won't close all the way at full stop, but I've been messing around with it for over a month and stills sticks.

Also I replaced the IAC when we installed this as well.

My point was that if it's not only sticking at idle, but also seems not to close when driving, you might have something else going on causing the plate to hang up.

What could that be though? Any ideas? I noticed when it's warming up the pedal seems fine then when it's hot it goes back to sticking at every full stop. Could it be a Maf prob?

It's something physical, not electrical. If the throttle cable is fine, the only thing it can be is the throttle body. Did you say you didn't have a return spring on it? Maybe the TB is defective?

When I first installed it the pedal would completely stick and I'd have to nail the gas pedal for the tb to open. I didn't know what it was and I bent the throttle return spring (stretched it by pulling bothsides) somehow thinking that would let the tb open.

Besides all that I think it may be the part.

Yeah, it's not supposed to be this complicated

Would the return spring on a early 2000 5.4 be the same as the 6.8? Local pick a part has a bunch of 5.4s but 0 v10s.

The part itself ends up being faulty, If I floor it hard from 0-70 the plates actually get stuck WOT all by themselves and have to be manually shut. Found several guys with the same part on mustangs had the same exact issue with this part.
