Does anyone know the procedure to adjust the idle speed on a 95 F150 with the 300 CID engine? More specifically the idle stop screw located on the throttle body? The little sticker says not to adjust the screw, but ours had been adjusted during trouble shooting a high idle problem. Now that is fixed we need to reset to factory spec.
I am assuming the screw sets base idle and needs to be performed without the idle air control valve affecting idle speed. I am also assuming that the idle stop screw keeps the throttle plates from fully seating in the bore, not sure what may happen if they do fully seat.
The computer will get the idle down right for you, as long as that rest screw isn't really out of line.
That's really so there isn't any lag in the pedal. Just adjust it so that the throttle still sits on it. If it helps, mine is about half n half in there.
