Ok guys ive searched and searched and can not figure out what the rear spring pad with center of pin to center of pin it. I have new pads ready to go on my 14 bolt axle and don't want to weld them into the wrong spot . Anyone know?
Your best bet is to locate the axle under the truck set the springs on the pads. Make sure the axle is centered and pinion angle is correct, then tack weld the pads. Remove axle for final welding
10/4 I like that ,and clocking it as well ..ok daylight ,,,when I hook my tape to the side of my rear blocks, and measure outside to inside ,I come up with 40.25.When I hold tape center to center, still looks like 40.25.Which confirms Ak suggestion of placing axle under the truck, and mocking up the saddles.good ? will help others down the road
I belive it got it out of a late 70's chevy 1 ton. 67.5" wheel face to wheel mount face. Slightly wider then the ford dana 60. As close as I could get to the 69.25" wide Dana 60 kingpin front axle.
Ya I was wondering about the width to, cause my truck also has the front dana60 and I really don't like how the front tires stick out further than the backs.
