Front axle mounting
I got a replacement front axle for my 64 F250 4x4 this past weekend. The question I have is the spring pads on the 64 measures 31.5 center to center and the replacement axle measures 33, should I move the spring pads or can I use it the way it is?

Do you know what the new axle came out of? It sounds like it's out of a later year truck. To do it right, you need to get the right one or move the spring pads. You're off by 3/4" on each side. THe u-bolts won't sit right and probably hit the spring pads the way it is.
