I have a 2000 Excursion 7.3L 4x4 (build date 10/99). Truck has been running sluggish, and doesn't have any power as soon as you get on the highway, at 60-70mph wouldn't have anything left, and now it feels like its been getting progressively worse, even happens at lower speeds when you give it heavy throttle. Today is the first time I pulled P0743 & P1744 codes. I had been chasing injector, hpop, icp, and ipr problems prior.
My question is, does this deem the TCC solenoid to be bad, or something else? If the TCC solenoid is it, would it be worth replacing anything else while in there?
I had the same symptoms as you aside from those codes,I hit rock bottom when I couldn't get over a 2" lip on the lifted sidewalk (damn city trees) coming out of my driveway!!
I changed out the up-pipes and put in a 38r turbo since i was there and now it screams down the highway. I may have went overboard but, man was it gutless before the change.
I don't have any experience with the TCC solenoid. if you haven't replaced your up-pipes check them for soot.
Any progress on tracing down this issue? I am in the same predicament with the codes but stills seems to have power. I was thinking that maybe I was having a wiring issue as well since during my last project I found quite a few rubbed/chaffed wires under the hood on other systems. If anybody has a schematic that I can use it would be greatly appreciated.
