P0420 & P0430 codes

P0420 & P0430 codes

I have a 2007 F150 XL 4x4 that the ces just came on and the codes were P430 and P420. I haven't noticed any difference in the way the truck is running. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?

The codes are "catalytic converter efficiency below threshold" banks 1 & 2. This could be bad cats or some other problem you will have to research causing them to throw these codes.

If it was bad cats wouldn't the truck be running rough or not at all? What are the other possiblities that could be causing this code?

I doubt it is the CATS. I would bring the maintenance of the truck up to par ie. a tuneup. I would then clear the codes and reboot the pcm. keep you eyes out for more codes especially pending codes

Most likely an oxygen sensor, take it to an Advance or Autozone and their reader will tell you more, didn't your reader give any info with the codes. I do this all the time for customers at one of the places above. Also check out the attached links :
