Quick starter question

Did some searching and can't find an answer anywhere. I have 460/c6 in my 1979 bronco and everyone recomends putting a starter off a newer 460 on it. I bought one for a 1995 f350 with an auto but the gear has 10 teeth but my old one has 9. Will this work or did I get the wrong one? Thanks in advance.
