The one big difference with the PTO version of the transmission that we had to deal with was the shifter bracket. The one from the standard version of the 4R100 doesn't fit properly so they had to "manufacture" one out of some angle iron and some plate steel. I will address this probably this week.
Glad to hear that it's working out great for you.
Sorry about the bracket thing. I have never seen the two versions, side by side. I also haven't seen any notes about the shifter bracket. But, it makes sense that they are different due the location of the PTO "window".

Once I get my $1,000 core back, it will have been a little under $4,000 with tax for the transmission. Just under $200 for the Schaeffers 204SAT transmission fluid, and I haven't settled up with my mechanic for the R&R but I suspect somewhere in the $500-$600 range. So all in all, about $4700 American dollars, give or take. That model transmission retails for $4220 before tax, according to fordparts.com. I got it for $3660ish (again, before tax which is 6% here).

500HP is a LOT of Hp for these trucks. If you are going that big, I would look at a BTS or John Woods honestly. They will build one for you with a warranty capable of handling that no issues. The Ford HD4R100 is a stout transmission, but I think 500HP may be pushing it a bit too far. That 38R 160/100's set up we were talking about earlier is going to be shy of that number by at least 50Hp, maybe more. You are going to want much larger injectors and a T4 set up maybe an S369, with regulated return, and fuel bowl delete. Bigger HPOP than that T500 maybe....

So Jason, how's that trans doing? My super duty trans just went out. And his warranty isn't that great. Still trying to decide which way I'm going to go..
