First Post.....in a LONG TIME.

Stopping in to say hello. It has been 10 years since I've owned a diesel and been on FTE. Used to find me on the IDI forums a while back. I recently made the move to become a Diesel mechanic so I bought a 6.0 and have been wrenching ever since Truck is an '05 ext cab long bed 4x4 with 214k. I know these things are great and hope i can get my kinks worked out soon so i can have some fun. Are there any threads out there pertaining to IDS and using it to its full potential? It is really the only thing I'm frustrated with currently and am having no luck finding GOOD 6.0 specific help(could just be my search wording). Look forward to being a part of the community again, I definitely missed this forum and the knowledge I gained from many of its users.

Chad

There was some talk here awhile back about setting up "stickies" in the pertinent forums for diagnostic and software specific posts but it sorta faded out... I think the Admin folks here want us to use the general electric/electronics forum on the main page but it didn't catch on. There is some info on the subject but most of it is embedded in different threads in bits and pieces.

The search function here seems to have a lot of features but I've fooled with it a lot and its pretty puzzling (read: makes my blood pressure go up) how it figures search results. I have better luck using my favorite internet search engine and letting it refer me back to the site by scrolling through the results looking for the forum or even including it in the search terms.

Welcome back!

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm definitely glad to be back. Really missed having a truck. Dan, I really do have a lot of catching up to do. School was my first exposure to the newer emissions systems on diesels and I'm just blown away at all the new tech. Mark, not currently working but plan on the bigger stuff.
