i like all the bells and whisles of a new truck but want the reliabilaty of the 7.3, not to mention i dont have the money for a new truck, anyway i am going to add the integrated brake controller (05 up), i have seen this posted where everyone has given up, i will do it, i have a controller and pig tails, i still need a pressure switch and tie it into brake lines if anyone has tried this im open for tips.
i have bench tested this controller and if u hook up the big red wire to 12v, white wire to ground, blue to load (i used a headlight bulb), pink to 12v, purple/orange to key power, and green goes to brake light switch; the brake controller functions, it has no input from pressure switch yet so will test that later but the slider lights up bulb, and backfeeds brake light switch to turn on brake lights
i plan to leave the 2 computer data lines taped up for now, later i would like to put 05- 07 dash cluster but thats in the future.
i have seen many posts about people who want to do this but have never seen anyone actually do it, i will also post later on how to add the ford keyless entry to anything (i have it on my shop with remote and number pad). i plan to also post how to fix the automatic hubs on the 98-04 4x4 trucks, i found why they stick and act weird. after brake controller i have the aux switches i will add too.
the data lines go from the brake controller to the dash cluster (to apear on display), to the computer (to get tps signal and tell computer about braking), and to the abs (to talk about braking forces aswell)
i plan to test the pressure switch theory on a 05 - 07 truck with it before i integrate into my truck
Wait you like the key fobs...and thats the one thing I find irritating!!!
If I need something out of the back seat I have to unlock front door with a key to get to the lock buttons to open the back door. I'm anul about keeping the truck locked so it's a constant pain. I'm guessing I'll have to buy a new GEM to upgrade to keyless but we'll see.

It will be a few days for that wright up, hoping to do it during the weekend, u dont touch the gem, i just get the module out of an f150, expodition, explorer, crown vic, mustang, etc and wire it in seperate, when doing this u can make it do things like work weather truck running or not, mine lights up my headlights parking lights, fog lights, interior lights, bed lights and rear facing lights when i unlock

Ok, now I'm interested. I'm going to need pictures and kindergarten style instructions.
Stewart,
I did try to program the truck several times when I first got it. Followed the procedures I found in a couple of threads here and Nada, zip, nothing. Truck apparently wasn't equipped for it from the factory. My first thread here was looking for help on why it wouldn't work.
It's been almost 5 years but it was seeking a solution to door locks not working that brought me to FTE. I was facinated with the other threads I saw when I got here and with how helpful everyone was. Reading some of those threads was how I found the fob programming info.
I often curse the search function here but come to think of it having to browse through all those threads to find what I wanted was how I realized how much great info was here.

Sorry everyone, i live 50 miles north of houston and had lots of flooding, to the point it was within an inch of getting in my stock high 4x4 superduty 😬
I spent 5 years at Ft. Hood, I am framiliar with the way the sky's open up down there. A couple days after thanksgiving 1997 I had to go northbound on the south bound side of 35 just south of Dallas because the water under the overpasses was well over 6' deep. I saw cars completely under water in the bar ditches and didn't know if I was going to make it myself. That flooding was minimal compared to what you folks are dealing with now so my heart and prayers go out to you.

How you doing down there Newman?
You folks are taking a beating......7.5" in the last 2 days is what we are hearing.
About a foot over the road at the bottom corner of our property but we moved everything up hill this time, will work on a write up for the keyless and the hubs soon, just been busy everyone
