From an Information Technology perspective there are some real security benefits to Windows 10 over the previous versions. This is more so the case for those who run their computers as administrators. And I have not come across much that worked on 7 or 8.1 that does not work on 10.

I have win 10 on my personal Laptop , nothing wrong with it as long as you turn off the File sharing and opt out of the windows Privacy features (or lack of)
My work stuff is all Windows 7 as it is more user friendly , not everyone likes the app based OS .

I get along fine with Win10 on my desktop. My wife has it on her laptop. She is very tech challanged and she hasn't had any issues at all. You do have the option of the new app based OS or the Classic style (which is what we use).

I tried it and switched back a few months ago to 8.1 only thing about 8.1 is the shutting it down with everything Hidden on the right side..

MS tried forcing me into to it again could stop it by turning off computer main switch.
Then rebooted.

You can install something called "classic shell" which gives the desktop screen an appearance more like Win8, 7 and XP Pro to an extent---I HATE the 8.0 opening screen!

Can't believe somebody would go back to 8 over 10. Couldn't stand 8, 10 feels like 7 again

win 10 sucks almost as bad as win 8 or 8.1
that stupid app system puts things where it wants, not where you want.
there are items stored in this new laptop that i will never find because win8.1 decided i do not know what i want and sent them to never to be found again land instead of to my documents like i told it to.
i am waiting for the win 7 disc to be delivered so i can get rid of this stupid operating system.

If you know what you are looking for ie docx,pdf,jpg... just search for it in with Cortana.
I like 10 better than 8.1 but 7 is my choice OS . Microsoft is getting very aggressive with their force everyone to Windows 10 .

on a side note I have noticed windows Update still reaches out and uses about 17Mb of data a day even with Windows update turned completely OFF .
I am still researching this , I believe it's some kind of hidden file share Microsoft built into an update .This is on Multiple Windows 7 computers on my work LAN .

Windows 10 is made to keep sending info to Microshaft

This may explain it

I am assuming you disabled the feature allowing a windows 10 computer to share its updates with another nearby windows 10 computer. It's a neat feature, but I can see where privacy concerns and malware concerns could make it less than desirable.
Windows 10 is part of a push by Microsoft to not just get everyone to a more secure OS, but to get everyone to the cloud and start using cloud-based apps/programs. I admit I am Microsoft centric in many ways - rely on my full-fledged MSN account along with a large one-drive to share information between notebook, android phone, tablet, etc. They are building a good eco-system, but it does require one to drink the koolaid and allow Microsoft and its hundred of $1billion plus data centers spread out across the world to serve as the host to your data.
