Emissions equipment delete

I noticed what looks like an emmissions charcoal canister on my truck, and also what looks like it could be a pulley for a "not there anymore" smog pump.

Ok, I know from having a 1979, that you cant just cut wires and hoses and plug bolts in holes to delete your emissions equipment. Is there literature, pictures, or threads available showing the emmission systems in a 1972? I did a search and not much came up.

I believe the smog pump and the charcoal canister are 2 different systems. The charcoal canister is to vent gas vapors from the gas tank to the air cleaner. The smog pump is to add air into the exhaust to dilute the emissions.

No bump came with a smog pump. If you delete the canister you will need a vented gas cap.

Ran across a 68 F100 or 200 (don't remember which) in a pick-a-part in NY, with the air tubes on it.
Also have a 67 Galaxie 390 with T/E on it. Came from CA according to the license plate still on it.

PLEASE HELP

Did you delete the emissions on your 79’? I’m working on a 78’ F250 and wondering how to get rid of the evaporation system, I can’t find anything on how to delete it!

Why eliminate the evap? If it's damaged that's one thing. But if it's functioning it keeps fumes under control and reduces fuel loss to evaporation.
