Hi all new to the forum. I have an FE from a 1959 Galaxy. I know nothing about these motors but have been doing some research and saw that pre 65 engines won't work in later years without machining/drilling new holes for the motor mounts. Is this true? Are there motor mounts that account for this problem? I would like to put it in a 67-69 f100 which I don't have yet but am looking. Which just incase anyone is selling a project in SoCal or surrounding areas/states for about 2 grand feel free to message me!
For the guys who can't drill bolt hole or fabing up an adaptor plate then it's true no go.
But for the guys who has some smarts and can make stuff work then Yes then their no rules holding you back and yes it's do able..

Very relieved to hear it's something I can do on my own. If all it takes is drilling another hole though is there any reason you can't just use factory mounts minus one bolt? Both options above sound doable though I guess I'll have to wait to see it in front of me to decide what route to go.

It seem that I've seen where a company has made a pair to mount the early fe into later 70's chassis. And don't remember who I was now.
I put a 61 390 into my 55 ford cp using stock Y blocks mounts from a 292 T-bird motor. Those mounts would make the engine sit up about 2" higer those. As the truck mounts are flat with about 1" of rubber pad then the stud.

1959 Ford Fairlane/Galaxie would have either a 332 or 352 FE engine. No 390's until 1961. 1968/76 F100/350's available with 360/390.
1958/64 FE's were only installed in cars, have rounded valve covers without holes for smog valve/oil caps, have an engine oil fill tube on the right (passenger) side front.
The blocks have a different bolt pattern for the rubber insulators than 1965/76 FE engines.
There are three different FE water pumps: 1958/63 with a generator; 1964 only with a generator; with an alternator = 1963/64 Thunderbird and 1965/76 all.
Adapters are easy- A piece of plate drilled with the block pattern on one end, the truck pattern on the other, and run the truck mounts with the perches in the six cylinder position. I had a 4x4 that was set up this way, it seemed to work well.
