Didn't get a pic yet.
Can't find my camera! It's been that kind of week.
Took it for a drive and love the 3.00 gearing.
300/6 motor- short bed- 3 speed and it feels just right.
The only thing I didn't like on the first run was the noise the pumpkin made!
Quiet in neutral while moving, whining while in gear accelerating.
I could feel the vibration in the stick too.
Turned around and everything quieted down and it got smooth.
I was actually passing cars instead of staying in the slow lane! Woo Hoo.
Then I got back on the streets and the noise came back
Parked it, I'm done for now.
I guess I now know why the diff was so cheap
If there's no fill plug, how do you know it's full of gear oil? I've never seen a Ford 9" without a fill plug. Usually, it's a recessed pipe plug above and to one side of the pinion seal. When the oil is level with that hole, it's full. You need to check that level periodically. Like checking the engine oil. That's like having an engine with no dipstick!

Now that your in the know how you can pull the piggy pumpkin out pretty fast and have a shop put some new bearing in it and drill a filler hole unless you can do that.
Look at the one you removed an measure where the hole should be and drill & tap it.
Like the OP says like a engine with out a dip stick.
Orich

Oye, I'm done crawling under there for a while.
Would have been nice to have that done before installing it eh?
I ran into the plug problem before also. I drilled a hole in the rear of the housing and brazed a female pipe fitting on it.
Filling through the axle tube is a lot cleaner than from the fill plug.

It was pretty simple to fill and as long as I don't have a leak I'm not worried about checking the level. The fluid isn't going to evaporate. Not in my lifetime.
I think that after 65 Ford stopped putting the plug in the rear of the housing.
My dad had a mechanic shop and we had a few fleets of trucks.
I can remember when there was a plug on the bottom so that the oil could be changed also on some of the cars.
