two different size eec relays
Does anyone know the difference between the two different part# eec relay replacements for the 5 liter 87 f150. Do they both perform the same function? I believe one is for the mexican version of the ford 5 liter? They look the same and wiring dwg's are the same, i have one i got at the junk yard but it is different than whats in there now(the broken one)? Is it safe to interchange these?

If the wiring drawing are the same , it should work. BUT if it does not, be prepared to replace your EEC module. I would spend the 15 bucks and go get a new one from a parts store. Take the old one in with you to cross reference to their parts. To me, NOT worth the risk of blowing my computer to save a couple $$ on the junk yard part.

Your best move is to cut off the old relay connector and install Bosch-type relays instead. They're what Ford (and Volvo, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, etc) used later, so they're reliable & easy-to-find.
