Blower Switch on my 2003 Excursion

Blower only works on high could it be the switch or the motor. My guess it is the switch. Thanks for any help!!!

Yup. Just did this a month ago on mine. Now I get all levels of fan speed . My resistor was so corroded, I had to snip the wires and pigtail the new one on. Works great though! If you buy the resistor, spend the extra $3 for one that comes with the wiring harness just in case you have the same issue I did.

Here's the link to the one I got:

Im having a similar issue. I have nothing blowing out. On any speed. Sometimes it will kick on going down the road at times but its a crap shoot. Rode the whole way to work this morning and it never came on. Think this is the culprit?

Probably not, but do a visual exam of the connectors and look for evidence of corrosion or overheating that might have caused a very intermittent connection.

Most likely, you have a blower motor with worn out brushes.

Well thats outstanding... Was hoping it was an easy fix like switching out this resistor..

ETA, I will note that there isnt any noise from the blower motor. No squeaking or groaning noise.. I can hear the selector switch move and hear the defrost door open up when switched (hope that makes sense)

Those things are normal but unrelated to the operation of the blower motor itself.

The resistor cannot cause a complete loss of blower function as the HIGH speed setting completely bypasses the resistor. There are other things that can cause the blower motor to not operate, but, when it's intermittent, it's almost always the motor itself at fault.

There is troubleshooting that can be done to pinpoint the fault.
