Dave, I'm pretty sure from your picture that you have to pull that whole axle apart like an older dana 60. I think you need to pull the axle shafts out with the 8 endcap/drive flange nuts. Then remove the spindle bearing nuts and pull the whole hub and drum off as one piece. Then pound out the 6 wheel studs if you want to separate the hub from the drum.

Thanks Jules I'll give that a shot. It's crazy that this is what you have to do just for a brake job! Probably couldn't get this done for $59.99 at Sears. Ha Ha
Also wanted to thank Joe (Harrier) for a link to his Thread. Oldie but Goody!
No offense if that is one of you guys but the fact that he is using vise grips to remove nuts would make me think he is a hack....
Edit: Now that I watched the video he is certainly a hack, they didn't show it but they definitely used a cold chisel to take the bearing retainer nuts off. I hate when the PO butchered something instead of just getting the right tool! Then you know there is no way they torqued them correctly after re-assembly!
Wow Jules that is an awesome Thread. Time for bed right now, but I will definitely check it out in detail soon. I did get the wheel assemblies pulled today and just put it on my rebuild page. Its funny you mentions vise grips and chisels to get the nuts off. I guess I'm a Hack. It had been done prior to me doing it on my truck. The notches were there, so I went for it. Not sure I could have gotten the socket on it anyway, they were so messed up. I plan to get new nuts and use the proper tool when I re-install. Any advice on getting them resurfaced?
haha I had to use a chisel to get mine off as well due to someone having done it previously but then I ground off the GIANT chisel gouges and bought the socket so I could torque them properly. If you can not get new nuts you may just have to clean those ones up. Also depending on how much force you had on the puller maybe check the bearing race for damage?
Advice on resurfacing the drums or the nuts ? If drums I already posted in your rebuild page.
