Random question. I switched over to a ts style chip and will be going through Gearhead tuning from now on. First I wanted to ask if there was a unit out there that had a touch screen controller? One that you can switch between tunes via button but still see DC,ICP, EOT, ETC on a screen similar to the edge insight or something along those lines. Similar to the aeroforce gauges. I figured it would be worthwhile to put it in if there was one out there that wasn't rediculously expensive.
Second question. If they are extremely expensive, where can I get the simple little **** controller and plug. Seems everyone only sells them as a pair with the chip and not individually. I need the controller.
I like where you are going with your thought process. How much does the cyclops controller do? I didn't look into it as I have the hydra .
My darn dongle isn't working for torque so I feel the lack of data.

I have not seen the cyclops? Got a link?
The informant 6 looks to monitor everything that the ECU can see as far as I can tell. It can't do diagnotic tests, but I'm fine with that. Thats what AE is for. It just would be nice to see what is going on with a personal vehicle when it throws a bat chit crazy moment.
Sure wish they made a simple mini usb plug into these chips vs whatever the hell that plug is, that way you could hook up a tablet/ipad/phone as your screen and run a cheap app. Hell a cheap tablet is 100$. Good on them because if they did then all I think there would be left is chip compatible software and chips/tuning and not the same market control Isn't that all it is anyway?
I'm also the same person who has only owned 2 computers from age 16, my lap top is from 2001 and my phone is 5 years old and becomes slower and slower as they force phase out old technology... so this is a big deal lol
and TS sells the ***** for $50. You have to call and order over the phone

If you have an old phone the cyclops is not what you want.
Gotcha. I think I may give the Informant a shot here this summer if I win the lotto. For now I'm excited to actually be able to use my tow tune when I need it. I bought an app back in the day for my i phone for 50$, never worked on the 7.3. spen 130$ on the dongle, and another 30 on the mount.... that would have paid half of the informant if out back then. Now my dongle doesn't work anymore because kiwi 2.0 is out now, 1.0 apparently is too old. All I ever used it on were gassers and my wifes horrific subaru p0407 code that was a 500 mile regular.
I hope to drop the pennies on it when I get a chance. Then it will force me to put a chip in the EX too.... uggggh
Well I wanted to dig this back up and see if anyone on here has any experience with the informant? My biggest question is if its possible to unhook the unit and move to multiple vehicles, hence the vehicle not having it still being driveable? In other words disconnect it and the vehicle without it reverts to a stock tune or just stays in the tune its in without disabling the vehicle like unplugging a controller for a DP chip.
I'd think they would offer a quick connect plug to go between a **** and the LCD unit instead of popping the cover off the PCM each time to switch the two?
I bring this up as the EX will have a ts style chip as well as broken blue here shortly... and another fleet truck that is used for the business. It would be nice to move from vehicle to vehicle easily if possible.
