OK guys. it looks like the chip will fit and all. but are you sure that is the right port for my superchip"s"? if i plug it in its not going to blow up or anything is it?
just making sure. i dont have the money if somthing messes up.

ohh and is there anything special i need to do before i let the baby loose? like turn the key on and off 10 times or just as simple as pluging it in and go?
OK. i put it in and nothing. i turn my key for the glow plugs to warm and the light wont come on. but all of the other 1's do? and when i turn the key i hear a clicking nose comming from the chip. why does it do this. ohh and hte truck wont start at all.

Wipe the heavy gunk off with a little piece of scotchbrite pad with nail polish remover on it. Then make a little scrape in each of the boards contacts with a pocket knife.
If you are installing the chip with the PCM mounted in the truck and the batteries connected, make sure the key is not in the ignition.
I don't know if you pulled the computer out, but that's what Jody at DP tuner recomends. And doing so, I know why. That crap on the connectors is tough to get off. Jody said to use acetone and a scotchbrite pad. You can get acetone at any hardware store. I almost went too far, I could see the copper starting to show throught the silver pins. I would scrape a little with a pick and then scotchbrite with acetone. My chip had no problems at all. Hope that helps.
thanks a-lot guys!!!! ill go pull the computer out right now. and get some fingernail remover stuff on a tooth brush and start scrubbing away.i will also use some contact cleaner.
thanks for the input!

I have cleaned it 2 times. the first time i took the computer out and the 2nd time i just left it in there. could the chip be bad??? ahrg its so frustrating!!!!!!!! any help would be great!
sounds like a bad chip then. I put mine all together, tested, then reinstalled PCM so that I didnt have to take it apart agin if I had a bad connection.
