My drivers side door lock SWITCH started acting up the other day so I removed it to see what the issue was. Considered buying a new one online first and just replace it but glad I didn’t. Anyway, the symptom was it would lock but NOT unlock so it had to be the switch itself.
Removed the 10” long panel then pulled the switch itself from the panel then opened up the switch (carefully without breaking it). It has four (4) contact points that I figured was dirty since it seemed to work perfect. Slid a piece of 2500 grit sand paper in between the points and pulled it thru (once) then cleaned it by sliding a piece of paper thru the points. Sprayed it with QVC elect cleaner, reassembled everything and low and behold it now WORKS PERFECT.
Just a heads up – don’t buy a new one until you CLEAN your OEM and save some money.
