I am in the beginning process of installing the MII kit on my 65 f100 and was wondering if anyone could help me out with setting the ride height. I plan on putting 17in rims on it and only want it approx 4in lower then the stock height. so my question is how and where do i measure to achive this? I have read many different things and it confuses me. I have removed all the old twin I beam suspension except the crossmember, I have established the center line and moved it forward 1/2in to center the wheels better is this correct? I did take one measurement from the ground to the bottom of the frame in the same location as the center line and it is 15in...any suggestions would be great.
I did a Fatman Fab on my 62 and there was no adjustment on how high the crossmember went. The part that held the lower control arms butted up to the bottom of the frame and the hats just went on the top. Mine had a old chrysler torsion bar front end on it before so I had nothing to compare it to.
I know on my 55 I dropped 5 inches with the TCI mustang II kit. Im assuming the same on the 1965. I do know that a common mod is moving the suspension up 1 inch to center the wheels in the wheel well.
Pauljones, I had a bunch of the install on my laptop and it crashed so no pics lift of that portion of it. I was pretty happy with the quality and the instructions and all of that from Fatman. The only thing that I didnt like was the extension that I had to put in the rack to make it wide for the track of the truck. and I wish I wasnt such a cheap ******* and had spent the money for a Flaming River rack. I could of gotten my engine down another inch or two and maybe back some more.
I have a few pics of the truck on the ground on my phone but, I am in Africa on deployment with the Navy Seabees.

Kinda shows the ride height. I did push it forward one inch With the glass in
Your wheel looks pretty centered and is the look I like so ill have to move my centerline forward another 1/2in.. Thank you all for the input and pics, I ended up emailing Helix about the detailed instructions and they gave me exactly what i was looking for. Im planning on getting the crossmember installed this coming weekend and will try to post pics as i go..
What are your plans for the rear end?
I am running a 9" out of a 75 or so torino in mine and l put it on top of the springs. After l C'd the rear frame the lRS became a popular swap like out of a Lincoln. They are pretty cheap and there are kits on the market as well.

im keeping the stock 9" just rebuilt with 3:50 gears, i thought about flipping it above the springs but i think it will be too much drop for me so i installed 2in drop shackles and possibly flip the perches if i need more drop and im also gona do disc brake conversion too..
