Well, I completed a very typical workday yesterday and the transmission was fine all day. 160 miles to Orlando and back with a couple of job stops in Orlando. Perfect shifting.
Glad it went well!
I'm getting ready to flush my system for the first time after seeing this thread I figured Id upgrade the pan and fitter...even stopped at the dealer to day and ordered the new pan.
Now that I'm looking at filters and gaskets on line, I don't think its going to work.
Looks like my pan is a completely different shape than the upgrade one with a real filter!
I asked Mark via PM how many quarts total in the transmission and he said it's about 18.
Now I can't stop thinking about the fact that my 10qts of fresh, new, expensive fluid is being contaminated by the other 8qts of filthy old 254,000-mile fluid....
Reminds me of Luke 5:37: New wine in old wine skins...
As far as the pan, the one i ordered that was shown in the upgrade video, is a completely different foot print. I noticed it when i was looking for gaskets.
The one on my van is almost square.
The one I ordered per that vid, covers more real estate, it has a portion the projects out from the edge and isn't square.
I even found one on line that cross references it as being applicable, but its outline is not the same at all.
Amazon says there is a real filter for my van, but i don't trust their fitment applications.
I am now considering assembling a simple B&M type cartridge type external filter.
