steering column from the 40's..??

steering column from the 40's..??

found this steering column, know its a ford, don't know what year/model its from.. can anyone offer me a clue..many thanks

Looks like 48 Ford passenger car to me. The column drop is stamped sheet metal. Ford only did that in 1948 after they ran out of the clocking column parts.
