What bulbs did you go with? Do you like the difference compared to OE?
Phillips Extreme. Not sure if it was the bulbs or new clear lens or both but it is much better without having to modify the header. I think the 05 have a more appealing look to some but with my bumper you can't really see them that well anyway. All I know is what I have is a lot better for only $100.
When I took the plunge it seemed like swapping the header panel was the easiest way to have a non zip tied grill. The panel was $82 shipped off of eBay. Biggest difference between the new and old header panels is the newer style is a lot less rigid. I can see more flex in the headlights but not an annoying amount, really simplified the installation procedures though.
I went all in with a projector headlight set from retrofit source that a friend helped me install and a steel bumper. After doing this headlight upgrade I wish it was something I'd done years ago, and being a purpose made projector it isn't blinding everyone around me so I don't get flashed. Going this route means you don't have to upgrade the wiring as the stock harness is only used for signal purposes to the projects.
This is what a low beam looks like now:
Was sentimental about giving my '02 front bumper up but the new look has me happy as a lark.
Guys, Any of you do the '07 front bumper during this swap?
Reason I ask is that I DID, and the painted filler (pad) sticks out from the bumper/fender and looks like crap........my bumper is aftermarket right now, I got a heck of a deal on a brand new, never used OEM Ford bumper, so I'm going to swap it out and see if the pad fits better.......ideas?
