Just got it out Thursday after fixing the rack and pinion, on the way to work today I heard some and felt some grinding in the front end. Made it to work okay,so I thought I'd check the power steering reservoir. It blew up in my face and all over the engine compartment and exterior of the truck. Never have I had the power steering fluid have so much backup pressure for it to do this, scared the mess out of me. Luckily I had a towel in the cab that I could reach blindly to clean my face, will find out soon what's wrong this time. Keep safe ya'll,L8R ZFLASH
Thanks,I was a little worried about my eyesight. When I went inside to work, I went to the first aid kit and flushed out my eyes real good. All seems to be well, thanks again. L8R ZFLASH
Keep us posted. I had my lines crossed and when I started up the truck it slammed to one side and almost killed the engine. Am eager to hear what your problem revels.

Sorry for being so late, just getting home from work. The shop couldn't find anything wrong with it, I picked it up and went to wash all the power steering fluid off the body and cab. No problems at all, went back out a couple hours later and there's a puddle of pws fluid on the ground. Can't find where it's coming from, wiped it up and wipe the reservoir, rack and pinion down. Got home tonight and there's another puddle same spot, I'll look at it on Thursday on my next day off and keep you up to date. L8R ZFLASH

Well I changed out the rack and pinion today, on the way home hit a bump and the steering started vibrating real bad. Took it back and adjusted it a little, then took it out for a little spirited driving at a nice speed. So far no problems,if anything pops up I'll post it up. L8R ZFLASH
I had a 74 Mercury Capri that did the shimmy thing. Ended up being the mounting hardware. Replaced the rack and tie rod ends. But didn't get results until I replaced the racks mounting hardware and then it drove like new.
Well took it to another shop today, the alignment is dead on, all the power steering lines are cleared, but still getting backup pressure. This guy thinks it could be the rack, which I just replaced with a new one,or I need a backup reservoir. I'm still thinking a stuck float in the pump when it gets hot, so I ordered another pump today and should be here Friday. I'll update later, thanks for all the input. L8R ZFLASH
Is the pump right for the rack? Not too much pressure or too little?
That I don't know, it's a OEM GM pump on a C10 2500 rack. Used this rack so the long tube headers would fit, had a Mustang II rack on it before. Thanks for the response,L8R ZFLASH
