Stake body, are they all created equal?

So I was walking around the u pull it yard and I came across this stake body. To be honest, I know nothing about them, other than the fact I want one. So this one is hydraulic tilt and looks okay, but my concern is that the bed is mounted to a chevy. Will it work on a ford?

Depends on the truck you are putting it on. A cab and chassis truck has a straight frame behind the cab, so mounting it on one of those will be pretty straight forword, no matter which make you put it on. Mounting it on a truck that left the factory with a pickup bed will take a little more work, but it will fit. I had to add a heavy wall 1 1/2X2 1/2 tube across the frame just behind the cab for the runners on the bed to set on to compensate for the hump in the frame where it goes over the rear axle.

Right now, I have a "normal bed", do you have pics of how you did it? How much should I pay?

Sorry no pics, but if I did, I'm not smart enough to post them any way. LOL I just mounted the tube across the frame of the truck, with the 1 1/2 side of the tube against the frame. How much should you pay, I guess around 1000-1200 bucks. The one I put on cost me around $2000, for a bare flat bed with a headache rack built on it. That was7 -8 years ago. I see them on Craigs List out here for 900- 2500 depending on what they are.
