I would like to get my 4x4 Indicator light working again as it has been disconnected since I bought the truck. I have a 1975 F-250 with a NP205 transfer case part time 4x4. I've tried doing some digging on this but there's just not a whole lot out there. So few questions below.
1. Does anyone know where I can buy the right indicator switch, and where it goes on the transfer case? (pic of connector and light below)
2. Is there a wiring schematic for this particular circuit? There's 2 wires going into the light in the cab and one wire on the connector.
3. Do any of your trucks have this? If so would you mind snapping a picture of the light on and connection points on the transfer case. And explain how it works?
I was going to leave this not working but it'll bug me to much once my truck is put back together! Thanks for the help. Nothing this forum hasn't answered yet. Appreciate it!
I had no clue these trucks had that. Very interested to find out what information there is on this.
This is the first time I've read anything about a 4WD indicator lamp in this forum. I don't recall ever getting a request from a mechanic at the parts counter for this lamp.
I couldn't find anything about a 4WD indicator lamp in the 1973/79 truck parts catalog.
That light was used only on trucks equipped with full time 4WD. It was used to indicate when the transfer case was "Locked". The part time transfer cases don't have the switch that activates the light.
Part number D4TZ-10C915-B
Here's page 3 from the '76 wiring diagrams. The location of the indicator light wiring is D-15 (that's almost all the way to the right).
You are such a nice guy to almost give parts away. lol FYI that is NOT my part on there and I give good prices to fellow FTE members too. Actually very good prices, so they say. At least I stay busy mailing parts, so I must be pricing things right?

I know you've been way more than fair with me Rich.
I can't complain about the switch. I got it from a Ford dealer years ago. It was in with a bunch of parts that I had ordered. I hadn't ordered it but I was charged for it. It wasn't that much, IIRC something like $18.00 so I didn't bother to return it. Figured eventually I might find a use for it.
I was just glad to be able to help out a fellow FTE'er that needed one.
I was very happy to be able to find you that air filter piece...and I was really happy with the trade of the parts CD for it. Now it I only had time to figure out that Aztec calendar/gee wiz way to make sense of it.
