I just got my truck back home from the paintshop. Have got most of the parts. Just have to get New Wood for the bed. It is kind of scary to assemble a truck With fresh Paint, and I have to do Things the right way to avoid scratches. Do anyone have a "step-by-step" how to assemble vent-window, window, the rubber absolutely everything is out. What have to be done first, second and so on....
`I do not have a step by step but I would say this. Anywhere you are worried about scratching the paint, mask it off with masking tape. If your paint has cured for more than a couple days you should have no trouble with removing the tape. Generally with any door assembly a person would start with largest parts, as in the glass itself. Then regulator,(although sometimes regulator first in some rigs),tracks, vent&track, moldings, rubbers, door panel,handles/cranks.. Quite a bit of room in these doors so once you get going you should be fine. Maybe a bit of trial and error for you but you can do it. Gary
That vid at the first shows a little how to do it. Put more tape than what they show. Down in the door channel and on the vent itself. Especially on that mounting point.
Insert the mounting point into the channel. There's a little gap near where the vent ends up. Then rotate and push up. I'd put tape all up and down the metal. It's real easy to scratch as it goes in.
If the paint is newer than 3 weeks I would be very careful about taping up the body. New paint does run the chance of pulling up with tape if not done correctly!! And why don't we have any pictures?!? Everyone loves freshly painted dents!!
