95 7.3 won't start

I have a 95 f250 7.3 that won't start I replaced the fuel pump,valve cover gaskets and pig tails and it has new injector o- rings and its getting fuel out of the bleader screw but it acts like it wants to start every now and then and if I spray a little eaither it will start for about 5 seconds then die it has Wight smoke coming out of the exhaust! what do you think it is? Thanks

I've heard using ether to start a diesel is bad juju - ?too hot - and very bad for engine. Unfortunately, I don't know what the alternative is.

Did you replace the fuel pump because it wouldn't start? Or did it start fine before and you replaced the pump for some other reason? Have you bled the air off of each injector line while cranking the engine?
