Engine swap in my 1982 f100

Hi guys im new here my name is craig. and i have a 1982 f100 that I swaped a burnt 300 IL6 with a 1972 351 cobra jet. The problem im having is the motor is way to heavy for my front coil springs I looked for better springs but all thats listed is for the 302 small block Im wondering if the springs for a 79 f100 that had a 351 modified or a 1982 f250 or f350 coil springs I need some that can handle the weight of a big block. any helpful advice is welcome. Thanks

I don't know if this will help or not (bump to get to top) but what I would do to see if the ones you listed would work is look up the springs for each truck and see what the part numbers are.
If they are the same then I would think you would be ok to use them.

My guess on the 250/350 springs is a no go. If you could get them in the front would be pointing to the sky.

How much heavier is a 351 than a 302? I have not heard of others running into this and my thinking is your springs are old & weak. Think guys are using 460's in our trucks wonder what they do for springs and that is a BIG block.

Oh welcome to the forum.

f150 springs should fit fine. A lot more engine choices with the f150.

Thanks. I will check the spring numbers and checke into f150 but I must note that what I have is a 351 cobra jet it is a Cleveland engine very much like the 351 modified and 360 it is a heavier engine than the 351 winsor wis massive intake valves.

The springs will go right in, no issues there.
