This may sound stupid but i cant seem to be able to adjust the brightness on my dash lights. Sometimes they are so dim they are hard to see and sometimes they are bright like I like them. The switch has no effect on the dash lights at all. Only thing it does is turn on and off the over head lights.
There in nothing in the book about the dash lights.
Thanks.
The rocker switch next to the headlight switch should adjust the dash lights. Push the top edge repeatedly to increase brightness, the bottom edge to decrease brightness. Each click changes the brightness.
If that's not working, then something is wrong with the switch.
The dash lights are pretty sad. Mine are brighter in the day than they are at night, it doesn't matter how much adjusting you do. You almost can't see the dash when your lights are on. Mine's a 2011.
I usually drive my '11 XL during the day with the headlights on. This of course dims the dash and radio. If I hit the rocker on top several dozen times it brightens enough to read the radio frequency and the so-called info-center. When I occasionally drive at night I must dim the lights with another several dozen hits to the bottom of the rocker. It is annoying and idiotic but it does work. Is it possible that there is an up-side to making the dimmer so insensitive??
This is the dumbest thing ever. My switch has no effect on the dash lights at all. The only thing it does correctly is turn on the map lights. Sometimes my dash lights are bright and then they just go dim. Will take it to the dealer on Tuesday.
Only push in HALF WAY on the rocker to adjust brightness of dash lights, ALL THE WAY to turn on interior/cargo lights. If you push slowly, you can feel a slight detent at the halfway point.
