Belt driven fans and fan clutches
Hey guys, So My 347 is built, my 4r70w is rebuilt and I am getting a trans controller from Baumann controllers. I am also going with a new eagle radiator (Step up from Champion) Now my engine I believe will be a higher reving engine because its stroked but I maybe wrong. I was told to get a 2000rpm stall converter.
So my question is have any of you guys ran a clutch fan setup that could safely handle more then 4000 rpm. The truck as it drives now gets to about 3200 regularly on the highway and like 6 miles to the gallon sinces its old, tired and I had a bit of blow by. I want to run a clutch fan to get back some of that robbed HP but I hear flex fans blow apart. Thoughts?
